Joint meeting of Executive Committee and Board of Advisors:

 

 

The joint meeting of Executive Committee Members and newly formed Advisory Board took place on 21 February 2010. Among other things the work plan for 2010, formation of By-Law of the chapter, membership drive and funds raising were discussed.

 

 

Interaction program with Nepali community leaders:

The Permanent Mission of Nepal to the United Nations organised "Introductory Interaction Program" with the Nepali community leaders in New York on 7 February 2010 at Himalayan Yak Restaurant in Jackson Heights, Queens. INLS NY chapter was represented by President Jyoti Poudel. Leaders of various Nepali organizations were present in the program. This was the first program of this nature organized by the Nepal Mission. The newly appointed Permanent Representataive of Nepal to the United Nations H E Gyan Chandra Acharya described the work area and responsibilities of the Permanent Mission and expressed the hope to work together with the community leaders. While speaking at the event INLS NY President Jyoti Poudel emphasized that mission should play vital role in support of Nepalese Literature, Art and Culture here in New York and expressed the hope that the Permanent Mission will extend support to INLS activities in this regard. Executive Committee Meetings:

The second meeeting of the Executive Committee took place on 3 December 2009.

INLS New York held its first Executive Committee Meeting on 30 October 2009.


100th Devkota Jayanti:


INLS New York organized the 100th Devkota Jayanti, Competitive Literary Program and Deepawali Celebration on October 10, 2010 at Dhaka Milnayton Restaurant in Jackson Heights, Queens, New York.
